About

The Knights of Columbus may have started way back in 1882 by the reverend Michael J McGivney, but our local adventure began on February 17th, 1977 right here in Murray, KY. That's the day our council, #6897, came into being.

Since then, there have been many changes. New Knights have joined our ranks, while others have moved on either to a distant city or to join our Father in Heaven. Our meeting place, Fr. Saffer Hall, has undergone additions and our grounds have expanded.

Through it all, however, continued the bonds we Knights share with each other and the commitments to our common purposes. Our order's founding principles of Charity, Unity, and Fraternity have guided our council's actions and those of its members for nearly 40 years and show no signs of stopping.
